How much can we trust the medical systems?
How reliable are AI predictions?
How might AI assist in equalizing worldwide medical services?
Inspired by these questions, my research interest lies in causal discovery in healthcare and human diseases. My goal is to facilitate trustworthy AI that enhances quality balance and equity in global healthcare services.
I'm currently a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore in Prof. Dianbo Liu's CogAI4Sci Lab, while maintaining a collaboration with the Mila team. Our work focuses on leveraging causality for healthcare advancements.
Previously, I completed my Master's degree under the supervision of Prof. Naoaki Okazaki at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. During this time, we developed a counterfactual learning algorithm to enhance Visual Question Answering on real-life and medical images.
From May 2021 to February 2024, I engaged in a long-term internship at Mila - Quebec AI Institute, supervised by Prof. Yoshua Bengio and Prof. Dianbo Liu. Our primary research focused on System2 and cognition-inspired AI, emphasizing causality and generalization.
Soon, I will be joining Stanford School of Engineering to pursue my PhD at the intersection of AI/ML, causality, and medicine.
